Conventional biocides composed of heavy metals or fossil-derived chemicals have been widely used in the textile wet processing. However, they are hazardous to the environment and human health, making the textile industry indicated as responsible for ca. 20% of global fresh waters contamination.
It was estimated that silver released worldwide to environment is more than 13 k tons/year.
Tech4MED offers a biostatic product fully composed of nature-derived biodegradable ingredients, the NaturALL-BS.For each kilo of NaturALL-BS, an equivalent amount of hazardous biocides are replaced, avoiding the contamination of groundwater and soil when washing or discarding textiles. NaturALL-BS raw material presents a carbon footprint of -0,8 kg CO2 eq/kg, enabling carbon fixation.
